Methodology

For every provider we track, we take the price of a 5 GB / 30-day data plan for the Europe region (or the closest equivalent) and divide by five to get a price per gigabyte. We then report the average, the median, and the cheapest and most expensive across the 11 providers that sell a comparable plan.

Unlimited plans are excluded because they have no per-gigabyte price, and free tiers are excluded from the paid average. Prices are guide prices verified periodically and can change with promotions, which is exactly why we re-measure every month and keep the history. The full series is in the machine-readable feed.
